Miley Ray Cyrus was born Destiny Hope Cyrus on November 23, 1992, in Franklin, Tennessee and raised in Thompson's Station, Tennessee to Tish Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus. Her siblings include two half-brothers and half sisters, and an older brother, sister and a half-sister. They named her Miley because she was an enormous source of chance for the children. Miley became her childhood name Smiley because of her cheerful nature. Her father was an elected Democratic politician who was named Ron Cyrus. Cyrus began her education at Heritage Elementary School located in Tennessee. When she was of eighteen, Cyrus and her family moved to Toronto in Canada where Billy Ray, Cyrus's father, starred as Doc (2001) in TV. Cyrus decided to start acting around that moment. Her first performance was alongside her dad in Doc (2001). Also, Cyrus had a role in Tim Burton's Big Fish (2003). Cyrus played on Hannah Montana (2006) (a Disney show that follows a teenager girl who leads a double-life as a singer) as the main character. Again, her father was on the show with her. After the show's success, it was a time of hit songs, sold-out tour dates and deals for merchandise. Cyrus became an overnight teenage phenomenon. Cyrus changed roles after the success and fame in Hannah Montana 2006. She was Ronnie Miller, alongside Demi Mood on The Last Song in 2010 and Lola alongside Demi in LOL in 2012.
